FixPilot
Guided diagnosis for eight everyday systems, from Wi-Fi to cars, powered by per-category decision trees.

Overview
FixPilot walks a user through a focused, step-by-step questionnaire for the system that is misbehaving — PC, smartphone, Wi-Fi, car, battery, electrical, home electronics or gaming — and a decision-tree model trained for that category returns the most likely cause, the symptoms it relied on and the actions to take. Results can be downloaded as a PDF report, and an optional assistant explains the result in plain language.
Objectives
- Turn scattered symptoms into a clear, ranked diagnosis
- Explain why the model decided, not just what it decided
- Give users a report they can hand to a technician
Features
- Eight diagnostic categories, each with its own dataset and model
- Progressive questionnaire with section progress
- Diagnosis with confidence, detected symptoms and recommended actions
- Model information: features, samples, train and test accuracy
- PDF report generation
- Optional "Understanding" assistant (Gemini) for plain-language explanations
Screens
Highlights
Design
- Clean, light interface with one decision per screen
- Severity tags and numbered actions in the result
Engineering
- One DecisionTreeClassifier per category, trained on generated Excel datasets at start-up
- Shared preprocessing and recommendation modules
- Server-side PDF rendering
Studio audit
Works end to end: the full Wi-Fi flow, result and report were verified on a local server. No changes were needed.
Found
- Requires a local Python server; the assistant needs a Gemini API key
Scored out of 10 on functionality, interface, visual consistency, performance, responsiveness, navigation, architecture, accessibility, error handling and professional readiness.
Demonstration
FixPilot needs its Python server (models, PDF reports, assistant), so it cannot run on a static website. The walkthrough was recorded from the real application running locally: a Wi-Fi diagnosis from start to result.
